Tenzy ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") operates the Tenzy mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
- Email Address: Collected during account creation for authentication and communication
- Username: Your chosen display name within the app
- Password Hash: Encrypted authentication credential (never stored in plaintext)
2.2 Study Content
- Study guides you create or import
- Terms and definitions you add
- Categories and organizational structures
- Personal notes and annotations
2.3 Study Progress and Analytics
- Study session history and duration
- Performance metrics and quiz results
- Learning statistics and progress tracking
- Features you interact with and frequency of use
2.4 Usage Data
- App crash reports and error logs
- Device information (operating system, device type, app version)
- General usage patterns and feature engagement
- Timestamps of app interactions

- Purchase history and subscription status

3. How We Use Your Information
- Account Management: To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and authenticate your sessions

4. Third-Party Service Providers
4.1 Authentication (Clerk)
We use Clerk to manage user authentication. Clerk stores email address, password hash, session tokens, and authentication metadata.

4.2 Backend Services (Convex)
We use Convex to host our backend database and APIs. Convex stores user account information, study guides and learning content, progress data and analytics, and app metadata.

4.3 Payment Processing
We use RevenueCat, Apple In-App Purchase, and Google Play Billing to process subscriptions. Billing information is managed by Apple and Google, not stored by Tenzy.

4.4 Error Tracking (Sentry)
We use Sentry to monitor and track application crashes and errors. No personally identifiable information is intentionally sent to Sentry.

5. Data Retention
We retain your information for the duration of your account's active use. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Study content may be retained in backups for up to 90 days after account deletion for disaster recovery purposes.
6. User Rights and Data Access
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Export: Export your study guides and progress data
- Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt-Out: Disable analytics and error tracking (if available)
These rights can be exercised through the App's settings menu or by contacting support@tenzy.app.
7. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the App's Settings. Upon deletion:
- Your account credentials will be immediately removed
- Your study content and progress will be permanently deleted
- Associated data will be purged from our systems within 30 days
8. Children's Privacy
Tenzy is not intended for users under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information and terminate the child's account.
9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), secure password hashing, access controls and authentication protocols, and regular security audits.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date, posting a notice in the App, and requesting your consent if required by law.
Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
